Rescued Chickens at Farm Sanctuary Need Your Help

I got this alert from Farm Sanctuary and I’m passing it along because it’s not too late to stop buying shit that no one needs and that ends up entombed in a landfill. Why not make a donation to help our non-human animal partners survive and thrive on the planet we share?

Farm Sanctuary has just responded to a case involving 148 egg-laying hens from a “free-range” farm, where they were slated to be killed this week.

I mentioned to you recently that a generous supporter of Farm Sanctuary is matching every gift until December 31 up to $30,000 … now is the time to help farm animals.

These sweet hens are living examples of what goes on behind closed doors even at facilities thought to be “humane.” The hens’ bodies are underweight and “spent,” as the industry calls them, as a result of intensive and unnatural egg production. And, they Donate Now to the Emergency Rescue Fundshow the painful scars of “debeaking.”

What’s worse … without the aid of Farm Sanctuary, they would have been slaughtered at just one to two years of age, though they can naturally live up to 10 years.

Help now with a gift to our Emergency Rescue Fund. Your donation will be doubled today with this incredible matching gift opportunity.

When Farm Sanctuary got the call that an egg farm was closing down, and the hens’ lives were in jeopardy, we responded immediately. But, now, we’re counting on Farm Sanctuary members to help us fund rescues like these, and to give farm animals a second chance at life.

These chickens were found crowded together on the second level of a barn, not freely roaming green pastures. They will forever cope with the mutilation of debeaking – their tender beaks brutally sliced off without anesthesia as tiny chicks – but we can give them the special care they need to live a happy life.

Please, take this moment to DOUBLE your gift and help farm animals at this critical time.
