Once again I’m going to urge you to skip serving a slaughtered bird for your Thanksgiving dinner, and instead adopt a turkey from Farm Sanctuary or Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary
Every year in the U.S., 46 million turkeys are slaughtered for one day of feasting. Their short lives are spent in filthy, overcrowded pens where they endure artificial insemination procedures that require sexual contact with animals – illegal activity in most states except for farm animals. Slaughter procedures are often botched causing more suffering.
Is that what you want to serve your family and guests on Thanksgiving Day? Why not try the alternative and give a rescued turkey a happy, healthy life!
If you’d like to get up close and personal and meet a few turkeys instead of eating them, and you live in the National Capital Area, why not visit Poplar Spring’s annual Thanksgiving with the Turkeys?

Last year I sponsored a turkey at Farm Sanctuary for Thanksgiving. I need to go to the same thing this year.
