I’ve just now watched this latest video from Farm Sanctuary titled “It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way.” I cry when I see animals suffer, but I cry harder when they suffer for nothing more than human gluttony. If you like meat, WATCH THIS VIDEO. You cannot turn away from the suffering you cause.
BTW, I just renewed my membership to the Farm Sanctuary and I’ll visit in June. I can’t wait!

I just don’t understand why those workers don’t have any compassion at all. Is “no compassion” on the list of job requirements? Why does that guy have to kick that calf?
These are rhetorical questions, of course.
Humans abusing any kind of life form is senseless, no matter the alleged “reason” for it.
The point Gene makes in the video is that factory farming methods are so insanely cruel that it creates a lack of empathy in the human animals for the suffering of the non-human animals. If you watch live chickens being hung by their feet and dropped into a boiling tank of water every single day, how long before you don’t have any empathy for the chicken’s obvious suffering?
And you’re right, there’s no excuse for human animals to abuse any non-human animal.
