For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with the extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. — Henry Beston
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society today launches their Seal Defense Campaign with several anti-seal slaughter demonstrations. The locations include: Canada – Calgary, Halifax, Nanaimo, Vancouver; U.S.A. – Denver, Detroit, New Jersey; South Africa – Cape Town, Pretoria; Hungary – Budapest; Ireland – Dublin; and UK – London. Detailed information about these demonstrations is available on the Sea Shepherd’s Web site.
You can also visit the campaign’s Web site and get more information on boycotting Canadian seafood, see videos of seals being slaughtered, and learn more about the Society’s plans to interfere with the slaughter.
If you’re eating seafood from Canada, then this slaughter is your responsibility. It’s because of your seafood-eating habit that the harp seal slaughter in Canada and the Cape Fur seal slaughter in Namibia happen every year. Educate yourself, write to the stores where you shop and tell them you won’t shop there until they stop selling Canadian seafood. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
